Safety and Qualifications

Powerline Services work to the highest levels of safety and are proud of a highly skilled and qualified team of utility arborists.  A high level of safety is also maintained with regard to equipment being fit for use, used correctly and in line with the latest guidance from governing bodies. This includes:-

  • All Health and Safety guidelines adhered to, Health and Safety Executive (HSE) Compliant.
  • Tree works performed to British Standards BS3998.
  • City and Guilds/National Proficiency Tests Council (NPTC) Highly qualified staff.
  • LANTRA experienced staff – National Training Organisation for Land Based Industries.
  • IPAF trained – International Powered Access Federation, promoting the safe, effective use of powered access equipment.
  • LOLER 1998 certified – Lifting Operations and Lifting Equipment Regulations.  Certified every 6 months and daily safety checks of PPE and Equipment performed.
  • PUWER regulations – Provision and use of work equipment Regulations 1998.  Ensuring the equipment is suitable for its intended use and safe to use in that capacity.
  • COSHH – Control Of Substances Hazardous for Health assessed.
  • PPE worn at all times in line with HSE guidelines.
  • First Aid/Manual Handling/Aerial Rescue qualifications etc.
  • Continued Professional Development (CPD)
  • Risk Assessments and Environmental Risk Assessments.
  • Method Statements undertaken documenting a safe system of work.
  • Full Public and Employers Liability Insurance, each of £10 million.
